Today on the show we had an interview with Val Langford of The Abbeyfield Society, which is a national charity with head offices based in St Albans.
Val talked about Remember A Charity Week which is currently running. Remember A Charity Week is an annual awareness week designed to promote legacies and encourage more people to consider leaving a gift to charity when writing a will. Billed as potentially one of the biggest cross-charity campaigns in the UK, charities across the country work together during the week to encourage people to take a moment to think about their favourite charity and what a legacy could do for them.
Remember A Charity was formed in 2000 and now works with over 150 of the UK's favourite charities, including The Abbeyfield Society, who work together to encourage more people to consider leaving a charitable gift in their will, after they've looked after their family and friends. Together, they aim to do what no single charity can do alone, making legacy giving a social norm.
