Phil's big interest in radio really sprung from listening to Radio Caroline in the 60's and 70's. He was very pleased when offered his first job which involved working in promotion and advertising for Radio Caroline based in Hertfordshire. See pictures of Phil on board when he and some others from Radio house went out with the tender from Brightling Sea one evening. Although Phil has never presented for Radio Caroline he has always been inspired by them through his radio career for the BBC, commercial radio and community radio.
