Hertfordshire County Council proposes to build a 380,000 tonne per year incinerator to burn waste in New Barnfield in South Hatfield. They are negotiating a contract with Veolia Environmental Services to build the incinerator at New Barnfield and to run it for twenty five years.
Today Phil spoke with Cathy Rowe about the proposed Incinerator. Cathy is opposed to the incinerator and urged others to lodge opposition to it by writing to Herts County Council who are responsible for making this future planning decision.
The proposed incinerator is a huge visual intrusion and will create traffic pollution, noise pollution and congestion. The plan is to build the incinerator on green belt which will create a loss of wildlife.
